Our concert season begins in October each year and continues till Easter, during which time twelve fortnightly concerts are presented. Based in Kendal in the English Lake District, the club commenced its 77th season on October 7th 2020 when Manchester Camerata played a programme for string sextet including Brahms Op 18 Sextet. Since then, Covid-19 has disrupted our season to the extent that we had to cancel two of our six concerts before Christmas. Our second half season of six concerts are also all cancelled. However, with the agreement of Kendal Parish Church, we will extend our season and will hold a three concert mini-series, 'covid-advice' permitting. The new dates will be 19th and 26th May, and 2nd June. The programme information is now updated.
We are also delighted to announce that Bradley Creswick, our club's President, has received an MBE in the New Year's Honours List. His concert with Margaret Fingerhut (piano), originally planned for 13th January, will hopefully take place on 2nd June.
When concerts resume, the practical measures to provide a 'Covid secure' environment both for audience and soloists, will remain. Please read these on the tickets page. We hope that you will feel able to attend our concerts safely. Single £10 tickets will be sold on the day from 12.30. No advance ticketing/seat reservation is possible. Please check our website or phone 01539 442511 to make sure a concert is on, particularly if you hear of measures to reintroduce lockdown in South Lakeland. All the latest details will be posted here on the Club's website. If you would like to receive an update by email, please send us your address using the contact page.
