Alessandro Taverna was born in Venice in 1983 and his studies took him to the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome as well as the Hochschule for Music in Hanover.

He has won numerous International Awards including in 2009 first prize in the Minnesota International Piano Competition which led to a prestigious American tour. In 2009 he was selected for the Lake Como Piano Academy where he worked with various distinguished pianists.

Alessandro Taverna created a great impression in 2010 with his performance of the Chopin E Minor Concerto at the Leeds International Piano Competition for which he won the Bronze medal. In Europe recitals have taken place throughout Italy, including the Maggio Musicale in Florence, Berlin and Zaragoza and further afield.

The Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival and the International Keyboard Festival in New York have both welcomed him.

In the UK, Alessandro has played concertos with the Royal Philharmonic and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra as well as with the London Philharmonic and the Hallé.
