Our concert season begins in October each year and continues till Easter, during which time twelve concerts are presented. Based in Kendal in the English Lake District, the club will commence its 74th season on October 4th 2017, when Manchester Camerata will play Beethoven's Septet.
In addition to featuring well-established musicians, it has always been the Club's policy to invite outstanding young professional artists who are at the beginning of their careers, many of whom subsequently attain international status. We are sure you will find much of interest and you are assured of a warm welcome at any of our concerts.
The Season Ticket and Membership fee this coming season is £84 which gives admission to all 12 concerts. Please see membership details HERE. Single Concert Tickets can be obtained at the Hall on the day of performance for £9.00/£10.00.
The second half of our season opens on 10th January 2018 with a performance of Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time" by an ensemble from Royal Northern Sinfonia led by Bradley Creswick. This is a monumental work in eight movements which helped to sustain the composer during his 2nd WW incarceration in a German prisoner of war camp. A Half-Season membership package is now available for £46 (a saving of £10 on individual tickets). It will be on sale at our concerts on 10th and 24th January or you can order it in advance -- see Tickets
The concert on 7th March, by Emma Johnson (clarinet), John Lenehan (piano) and children from Old Hutton Primary School and QES Kirkby Lonsdale, is likely to be busy. No advance reservations are possible but 150 tickets will be on sale from 12 noon on a first come first served basis. Season ticket holders are advised that they should be in their seats that day by 12.45 at the latest, please. Any further empty places will be made available for sale thereafter.
Snack lunches are available in the Town Hall from 11.50 on concert days. This is an excellent way to meet other members. No reservations are required.
